A restored 18th-century Piedmont farmhouse between the Alps and the Langhe. Twelve suites, one long table, eight hectares of vines.
A stone Cascina,
slowly restored.
Casa Colibrì was built in 1786 as a working Piemontese Cascina - thick stone walls, terracotta roofs, a courtyard for the horses. Two families farmed it for seven generations. We took over in 2019 and spent four years bringing it back with local craftsmen: original beams stripped and re-oiled, walls limewashed by hand, terracotta floors relaid tile by tile.
Nothing here is new-build. Every window still looks where it always looked - east to the vineyards, north to the Alps.

no two alike.
Original vaulted wood-beam ceilings. Limewashed walls in cream and warm ochre. Linen four-posters, restored antique chests, tall shuttered windows that open directly onto the vines. Every suite is ensuite; six have private terraces facing the Alps at sunrise.

Terracotta floors,
stone tubs, candlelight.
Bathrooms cut from the original stables - arched windows onto the vines, hand-cut terracotta floors, freestanding stone bathtubs deep enough to disappear into. Brass fixtures, warm underfloor heating in winter, and a shelf of Piemontese apothecary oils.
Eight hectares
of gentle work.
Beyond the walled kitchen garden - rosemary, tomatoes, courgettes, herbs for the chef - the estate rolls into olive groves, cypress-lined paths, a small orchard of quince and fig, and rows of the villa's own Nebbiolo and Barbera vines. Walking trails run from the front door into the surrounding forest.

Heated May through October. Teak loungers, a shaded pergola, olive trees for privacy - and a straight-line view to the Alps.

Between four
worlds.
The reason Casa Colibrì works as a year round destination: everything is close. Vineyards on the doorstep, Alps on the horizon, rivers within an hour, and the best kitchens in Italy along the road home.

The villa is surrounded by its own Nebbiolo and Barbera vines, and sits at the edge of the Langhe - Barolo and Barbaresco are a thirty-minute drive.

The Piedmontese Alps rise to the north: Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso - all within a comfortable morning drive for a day in the high country.

The Sesia and Dora Baltea run cold and clear through the valleys. Lake Orta, glassy and calm, is thirty minutes away for a morning swim or a slow lunch.
